Children identified with Special Educational Needs are supported by a differentiated curriculum to match their understanding and pace. The school’s special educational needs co-ordinator, teaching assistants and specialist teaching assistants play an important role in providing this support. Children are given individual and group action plans which are discussed with parents, head and teachers. Outside agencies such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, I.T. specialists and educational psychologists may also become involved when appropriate. The school was commended for its excellence in S.E.N. teaching in OFSTED. The school’s accessibility plan for pupils, staff and visitors with disabilities is reviewed annually.
