The school will endeavour to keep parents well informed about their children and their school. Throughout the school a book is used for messages and as a home reading record, this along with letters is sent home in the reading bag. The youngest child will receive the letters for the whole family.
A curriculum letter is sent home by each class teacher at the beginning of the year, this outlines the curriculum that children will study in that class.
A newsletter from the headteacher is sent home termly outlining school events and giving dates and times of these. Additional letters will inform parents of school trips and other events as they arise.
Two parents evenings are held during the academic year, usually in the autumn and spring terms. A school report is sent home annually which includes comments on all subjects, individual targets and comparisons to national standards in the core subjects. Both children and parents are invited to make comments on the report.
Parents receive further information about the school, including school targets in the School Profile which is published by the governors during the spring.
If parents have any concerns or complaints they may speak to staff, the headteacher, Parent Governors or the Chair of Governors. Parents should not hesitate to contact the school on these occasions. All staff will be willing to help.
